Home Again, Home Again...

JackJack came home on May 22. He now has weekly appontments with a feeding specialist since he still gets 90% of his food from a G-tube. Twice today he drank 1.5 oz from a bottle, and that is a huge breakthrough for him. He also has weekly appointments with a developmental therapist. He pretty much gained consciousness at 3 months old and didn't know what to do with his hands or anything. He's really good at holding on to fingers and seems to like having a blanket in his hands. He'll actually open and close his hands with it. Things are going slow, but heading in the right direction.

Why do ducks have flat feet?

To stomp out forest fires.
Why do elephants have flat feet?
To stomp out flaming ducks.

Happy Birthday, Dad. I miss you.

Free Baby!

JackJack is off the oxygen! No more oxygen machine or tanks, and we were even told to give back his monitor. The kids keep telling him "you're a free baby," and since he's no longer restricted to the living room or playroom, they wanted to take him around for a tour of the entire house.

Discharged today

JackJack was diagnosed with pneumonia, but was doing better after some Tylenol and antibiotics. We get to bring him home today and will continue with the antibiotics. He will also be getting weekly weight checks at the pediatrician's office since he's such a little guy and he's been using up so much energy just being sick.

Last photos at the hospital

These were taken with a cellphone the weekend before JackJack came home. We're working on getting real photos with a real camera.
